The Alumni Association

To look back and think about the good times we all spent at JKSHIM brings smiles and rich memories. It is a privilege to be an alumnus of an institution that has provided such great memories and enriched each of us with a multitude of friends.

The JKSHIM Alumni Association’s purpose is to foster a lifelong relationship between the alumni and the Institute through advocacy, support, service and communication.

Our main functions are to:

  1. Develop and maintain contact with the Alumni for social, professional and networking purposes.
  2. Provide benefits in the form of programmes and services for members of the Alumni Association.
  3. To increase awareness of the Institute, its programmes and activities.
  4. Assist and support the students at the Institute through mentoring programmes.
  5. Strengthen ties with the student body including the sharing of career experiences and opportunities.

The alumni association meets periodically at convenient locations.

 10th Annual Meet

The 10th Annual Meet of the Alumni Association of the Institute was held at Hotel Ramanashree, Bangalore, on 8th May, 2010. The director of the institute, Dr. M.S.Moodithaya, Dr.N.K.Thingalaya and Dr.N.S.Shetty were the guests of honour. A guest lecture on Personal Effectiveness for Professional Growth was delivered by Mr.Satish Irde.

6th Annual Meet 

The 6th annual general meeting of the Alumni Association of the Institute was held on May 6, 2006 at the Institute’s Seminar Hall. The meeting was attended by 27 members. Dr. MS Moodithaya, Director of the Institute, Dr.NK Thingalaya, Dr.NS Shetty and Prof. AVM Ramesh Karnik were present during the occasion.
Mr.Santhosh Kumar, Secretary, welcomed the members and recalled the decisions taken at the meeting held in Bangalore last year. The Director of the Institute addressed all the members and briefed them about the activities at the Institute and also informed them about the future plans. The important issues that were discussed at the meeting were as follows:

1. Constitution of the association - Mr. Sudhir M, treasurer, briefed about the new constitution of the association. The new constitution and its clauses were unanimously accepted without any changes.

2. Batchwise meetings - Mr. Keshav Holla from the batch of 2003-2005 proposed the idea of batchwise meeting of the Alumni Association. All the other members also felt that this would strengthen the networking of the old students of the Institute. Hence, it was decided to encourage batchwise meetings at convenient locations.

3. Strengthen the networking - Mr. Santhosh Kumar mooted the idea of networking all the old students of the Institute. It was felt that a website for the alumni association would not only help the students get in touch with one another but will also enable them to get connected with the Institute and activities. Mr. Sudhir M, was entrusted with the responsibility of designing a website exclusively for the association.

4. Fund management - Mr. Sudhir, treasurer, submitted the summary of the association. The meeting accepted the idea of opening two fixed deposit a/c of Rs 1 lakh each and SB a/c of Rs. 60,000. The interest accruing from the accounts will be used to award three prizes in the name of the Alumni Association. With a sense of commitment to the academic excellence, the association has come forward to Institute 3 awards namely., Best Inplant Training Report, Best Project Work and Best All-rounder Student.

5. Election of new office bearers - The election of new office bearers for the year 2006-2008 was also held the same day. The list of the new executive committee is as follows-

The meeting concluded with a promise of more activities and programmes with the Institute. The members then joined in the Institute day celebrations in the afternoon and also interacted with their junior batches.
