Co-curricular Activities

 

The students of the Institute through the various associations like Sr"jana (cultural association), Samvedana (community service wing), The Wall (weekly wall magazine), Maestro (marketing association), Finsight (finance association), Converge (HR association), Bancore(Banking & Finance), Sam'vahana(Speakers' Club) Rotaract (youth wing) and SPIC-MACAY (national level cultural association) organise several programmes throughout the year. The activities of the associations are focussed on active participation of the students. These associations help students to think beyond the four walls of the classrooms and help students to portray themselves in an ingenious and creative fashion.

Sr"jana

The Institute attaches importance to the overall development of a student"s personality and talent through a forum named Sr"jana. It stands for creativity. It undertakes several extra-curricular activities to bring out the hidden talents of the students. The activities conducted include seminars, guest lectures, management games, art exhibitions, literary and cultural activities. Sr"jana is also a platform to give more hands-on and practical inputs to the students of management, keeping up with the latest management trends the world over.

  • Ettin (Education Transformation Through Inter-institute Nexus) is an inter-institute management festival held every year at the Institute. The programme is planned, organised and implemented by the students. The festival has management games, business quizzes, product presentations and investment games designed to bring out the latent talents of MBA students. Ettin is a part of Sr"jana activities.
  • Synergy is an inter-class management and cultural event. It is organised to provide the right type of opportunities to the students whereby they can express and develop their capabilities and cultural talents on a single platform.

Associations & Clubs

The students are encouraged to develop competencies in their chosen field of specialisation by becoming members of Maestro – the Marketing Association, Finsight- the Finance Association and Converge –the HR Association. Bancore, the banking and finance association. The activities of the Associations are focused on active participation of the students to help them expand their knowledge beyond the prescribed university curriculum.

The Sam'vahna focuses on developing the students’ communication skills by encouraging them to participate in debates, public speaking, group discussions, mock interviews and the like.

“The Wall” is a weekly magazine that provides an opportunity for the students and the faculty to exhibit their creative talents and also vent out their feelings. It is managed by a committee comprised mainly of students and guided by the faculty co-ordinator. It is a popular attraction at the Institute.

Samvedana’ the community service wing of the Institute was developed with the motive of developing socially responsive managers. The idea is developed, funded and managed by the students. Samvedana helps the local people in solving their problems and organises visits to orphanages, schools, old age homes, blood donation camps and personality development programmes.
