The study would cover four states of southern India-Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
The study will review the existing pattern of the bank customers, the type of facilities rendered and the problem of access for inclusive financial services. The study recognizes that though there are many new initiatives recently introduced such as credit linkages of SHGs with the banking system and the entry of micro-finance institutions, they are yet to make significant impact on raising the income levels to the beneficiaries.
