| Dr. N K Thingalaya Dr. Thingalaya is a Professor Emeritus at the Institute with teaching and research interests in Banking and Micro Finance and Rural Development. He is a postgraduate in Economics from Bombay University. He received his doctorate, in Inter-sectoral Price Analysis in 1966 from the same university. Dr. Thingalaya joined the Syndicate Bank, one of the largest public sector banks in India as an Economic Advisor and rose to the position of Chairman and Managing Director. During his tenure as the Chairman, the Bank witnessed remarkable growth, bringing all-round progress. Other than being a banker, he is also a brilliant academician and has published several research papers, which have been received well in the academic and banking circles. He has published seven books on banking related areas and is currently, working on banking challenges in the context of globalisation. Dr. Thingalaya has been a member of the Planning Board of the Government of Karnataka and has worked in different capacities in committees appointed by the Government. In addition to his teaching and research assignments, Dr. Thingalaya serves on the boards of several companies and non-profit organisations. | | | | | | |
 | Dr. N S Shetty Dr. N S Shetty is a Professor Emeritus at JKSHIM. He is an Agricultural Economist with a doctoral degree from Bombay University. He started his career as a Research Officer in the Department of Economics at Bombay University and later, shifted to the Bank of India as an economist. After a short stint in the banking sector, he moved to UNDP and served as a FAO consultant. Dr. Shetty also served in the Development Bank of Zambia and worked in the Common Wealth Secretariat (CFTC) as a senior agriculture economist in Uganda. He worked in the FAO (UN) as Principal Agriculture and Advisor to the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, Govt. of Uganda for about 8 years. Dr. Shetty has prepared a number of policy documents and study reports for different agencies. He has produced many research publications on various issues relating to agriculture economics particularly with a global perspective.  | Prof. Dr. G. V. Joshi Prof. Dr. G. V. Joshi holds four degrees, M. A (Eco.), M. A (Pol. Sci.), M. Phil and Ph. D. He acquired research training for M. Phil at the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune. He took his Ph. D degree at the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore. For his research purposes, he successfully adopted inter-disciplinary approach combining Economics, Political Science, History and Sociology. After putting in 26 years of service at Mangalore University as Lecturer, Reader and Professor, he joined JKSHIM on July 1st, 2009. His areas of interest include Advanced Economic Theory, Agricultural Economics and Banking. He has authored five books and edited six volumes on themes like Agrarian Structure, Agro-Based Industry, Overdues in Co-operatives, Rural-Urban Migration, Rural Banking, Privatisation of Banks, WTO and the Banking Sector and New Horizons of Banking and Finance. He is presently a member of the Karnataka State Planning Board. | | | | |
 | Prof. K R Karnik Prof. K R Karnik joined the Institute as a Professor of Strategic Management after more than three decades of service in the Indian Air Force, rising to the level of Air Vice Marshal. He has a Master of Management Studies (MMS) degree from Osmania University and completed Long Defence Management Course (LDMC) from the College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad. He has also attended a course on Financial Management conducted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi.
He has wide experience in co-coordinating the activities relating to Budget and Planning within the IAF as well as with Defense Ministry and Finance Ministry. Prof. K R Karnik was also on deputation to the Ministry of Finance during which period, he was appointed as the controller of accounts in the Ministry of Human Resource Development and Ministry of Personnel Public Grievances and Pensions. Conducting training programs on strategic financial management has been a passion for Prof Karnik during his defense career. Prof. Karnik has his teaching interest in Strategic Management and Behavioral Processes.

 | Dr. Sudhir Raj K Dr Sudhir Raj K, Professor, is a Post Graduate and PhD in Economics from Mangalore University . He has a Diploma in Journalism from HIJ, New Delhi. Dr. Raj has over 28 years of teaching experience. An approved PhD guide of Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, Dr.Raj handles courses such as Managerial Economics, Economic Environment, Legal Enviornment and Industrial Legislations & Entrepreneurial Development. He has designed and conducted several management development and training programs for executives and students. He has presented research papers at the state and national level conferences. He has also published several articles in leading dailies and journals. His research interest is in the area of entrepreneurial development, leadership and housing finance. Dr. Sudhir Raj has contributed several articles on various issues of Economics and Management, to various magazines and journals.

 | Prof. N Jayarama Shetty N.Jayaram Shetty, Associate Professor, is M Com ,LLB, CAIIB, PG.DHRM, PG. DMM, Dip..TD (IISD) and Pragya in Hindi.Prior to joining the Institute he worked for Syndicate Bank in various positions such as Faculty member,Senior Branch Manager and Lead District Manager .He has training and teaching experience of 17 years. He was a trainer at staff training colleges at Bangalore, Udupi and SIBM Manipal (Apex training college). He handles courses on Treasury Management, Credit Management, Asset-Liability Management,Financial Services, Organization Behavior & International Business Management. He is pursuing his PhD in SME.

 | Prof. Radhakrishna Sharma Prof. Sharma, Associate Professor at the Institute is an MBA ( Finance) from Mangalore University who has two decades of teaching experience. He has to his credit, Diplomas in Commodity Market (DICM), a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Advising (PGDFA), Certified Financial Manager (CFM) and Licentiate Examinations of Insurance Institute of India (III). Prof. Sharma has also served at the Debub University, Awassa, Ethiopia for two years in the Department of Management under the United Nations Development Programme.
He has also several professional Certificates Programs in areas such as Capital Market, Depository Operations, Derivatives, Commodities and Mutual Funds. His areas of interest in teaching and research include Security Analysis and Portfolio Management ,Financial Derivatives and Financial Management. Prof.Sharma has conducted several EDP’s at the Institute in the area of finance. He is currently pursuing his PhD in the area of mutual fund. Prof. Sharma is a qualified MCX Certified Commodity Professional (MCCP) from Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd. and NCFM (Derivatives) of the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd.

 | Prof. Ashalatha K Prof. Ashalatha K acquired her Masters degree in Business Administration from the Mangalore University, specializing in Financial Management. She has worked in the engineering and construction industry for a decade before shifting to academics. She teaches courses on Tax Administration, Merchant Banking and Mergers and Acquisition.
Mrs. Ashalatha was a member of the Academic Council of Mangalore University and a life member of the Mangalore Management Association and Public Relation Society of India. She is pursuing her doctoral degree in the area of role of managers in decision making with specific reference to the banking sector.

 | Prof. Sudhir M Prof. Sudhir received his Masters degree in Business Administration from the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. His area of specialisation is Marketing Management and areas of interest include service marketing and integrated marketing communication. He has participated in several seminars and workshops and has presented papers on areas like Ethics in Marketing, Customer Relationship Management and Cause Related Marketing. Prof. Sudhir is an active researcher in the field of Corporate Philanthropy and social development. At present, he is working on research projects involving the study of corporate-NGO partnerships and has completed a research project on corporate philanthropy and social development in India supported by the Ford Foundation. | Prof. Ravilochan Rao Prof. Ravilochan Rao, an Engineer in Electronics and Communication with Masters Degree in Engineering Management from University of Mysore, has over two decades of industrial experience in R & D, Production and engineering. Prof. Rao has entrepreneurial experience as franchisee and Centre head of SSI education in Mangalore, and has conducted several computer training programs which include training of school teachers, training children of BPL families (sponsored by KUDCEMP in association with KREC-STEP) and engineering students. Prof. Rao is pursuing his doctoral degree from VTU in the field of IT application in the SME sector. Professor Rao handles papers on Quantitative Techniques, MIS and courses in Marketing. | | | | |

Dr. Paul G. Aquinas has Masters Degrees in Economics, Commerce (Costing & Advanced Banking) and Social Welfare (Personnel Management and Industrial Relations).Besides these; he has Postgraduate Diplomas in Labour Laws and Marketing Management. He has obtained PhD for his thesis on “Personnel Practices and HRD Systems in Banks”
He has published several research articles in the areas of Organization Behavior and the Management of Human Resources. Currently, he is engaged in research projects on HR related aspects in Mergers and Acquisitions and has presented papers on the topic in several international seminars and conferences. Dr. Aquinas has published over 12 books on Management and Economics. He has served as UNDP Professor of Business Administration of Business & Economics Department at Alemaya Unversity, Alemaya, Ethiopia .He was also the member of Academic Council representing the Faculty of Management and BOE & BOS in Management at the University.
He has taught courses on Personnel Management, HRD and OB for more than two decades in reputed management institutes. He has also worked as a faculty member in Ethiopian University on Personnel Management. Dr. Aquinas field of academic interest ranges from Commerce and Management to Economics and Behavioral Science. Prof. Rao has an MBA degree, specialized in Marketing from Mangalore University. She has over six years of industrial experience in the field of Media Planning on Coca Cola Account at Madison Communications, Bangalore, Advertising at Magnum Intergrafiks both Mangalore and Bangalore ,Print media at Indian Express Newspapers (Bom) Ltd, Bangalore. Prof Rao has also worked as a PR Consultant at Mileage Communications, Bangalore - a Singapore based strategic marketing communication company and worked in the area of publishing with EBD, Dehradun as an Executive Editor. Prof. Rao has over seven years of teaching experience and handles courses such as Business Communication, Integrated Marketing Communication, Strategic Brand Management and Services Marketing. Her research area includes Brand equity with consumer Franchise Building Promotion.
